About Bubbles & Verses

Hey! I'm Assaf Gamzou -

I'm an educator, independent curator, and researcher in the fields of Judaism, Comics and Museums. I spend my time thinking about Jewish civilization - its' texts, history and ideas - and about comics and graphic novels. Mostly, I'm fascinated by what happens at the intersection of the two.

I intentionally (and sometimes unintentionally) combine the serious with the playful: A comic panel can illuminate ancient philosophy, A museum exhibition can be both intellectually rigorous and bring genuine joy as you walk through.

My background spans policy, curation, and large-scale educational work—I've spent years in nonprofit leadership, museums, and government, helping organizations think strategically about how they engage people. That experience shapes how I think about ideas and how to share them.

Here's what you'll find on this site: essays and lectures on Jewish texts and culture, explorations of comics and graphic novels (especially where they intersect with Jewish civilization), and reflections on curation, meaning, and how we tell stories.
